History

Ann’s Cozy Quilts & Fabrics opened their doors in May 2007. Ann and Bill Parent, owners, began visiting the area in 2000 and fell in love with Rutherfordton. With their four kids grown and now on their own (yeah!), they moved to Rutherfordton permanently in 2007. With no local fabric store close by, Bill encouraged Ann to open their own store, and they’ve been off and running since then.

Objective:

To encourage everyone, whether you are a beginner or more experienced sewer, to enjoy what you are making and to help you plan, find fabric, bounce ideas for putting the quilt together, or how to quilt the quilt. We enjoy each person we deal with and individual attention is given, no matter what level the question is or whether the item you are looking for is small or large.

What’s Up?!!

We love to meet all the wonderful people who either live in the area or visit.” Ann spends a lot of time helping customers pick colors that will coordinate terrific in their quilts or projects. The store is “cozy”, not small or overwhelmingly packed with items but comfortable and fun to look through. Fabric is shown per the collection or theme and you can enjoy browsing the store from previewing books and patterns, checking out the “sale corner’, new notions, batting and fabrics. Be sure to look in the classroom to see the numerous quilts hanging which our customers bring in to share with everyone! In August 2008, we became a Handi Quilter 16 representative. As you enter the store, you’ll see Bill busy on the HQ16 machine quilting the customer’s quilts or showing potential HQ16 owners the machine!

Two of our kids are in the Army and as a small token of our appreciation of the men and women in the armed services do for us we give members of the military a 10% discount.

Classes are available from beginner to the more experienced quilter. We offer classes from learning to sew, quilting classes, non-sew classes and many others.
